How much does a consultation cost?
We offer a free telephone consultation service. During this call we can talk through your potential project and ideas and point you in the right direction to move forward. We will also advise you on our Preliminary Design Analysis, or 'Needs & Options Review'.
What types of projects do you specialise in?
We specialise in residential design and home improvement. We have a breadth of experience ranging from small single storey extensions to one off bespoke houses to 500 unit schemes.
What is a Preliminary Design Analysis?
Our Preliminary Design Analysis (PDA) is a pre-design service that reduces project risk. It allows us to spend time analysing the opportunities and restraints a project may have so you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.
Just as a surgeon wouldn’t operate without a proper diagnosis, the Preliminary Design Analysis (PDA) works on the same principle. It will allow you to start an exploration to precisely understand your needs and options, then it will provide you with:
-
Findings and recommendations
-
A preliminary plan to move forward
-
A timeline and rough estimate of cost
How long does an average project take?
For a relatively simple, three metre, single rear extension, construction time should be around three to four months. For a larger or double height rear extension it may be more like six months. This does not take into account the design and planning phases of the project, which will vary depending on whether you need to apply for planning and other permissions. A sensible time frame for most house extensions (where planning permission is needed and perhaps a party wall agreement), from appointing your design team to completion, would be around a year.
How are your fees calculated?
You can select all or part of our services and our fees will be worked out depending on your requirements. Some projects are best worked out on an hourly rate whilst others require a fixed fee or percentage fee, or we may suggest a combination of all three.
How involved do I need to be?
Any successful project is a result of a good working relationship and collaboration between the client and our team. We aim to guide and enable Clients to take as much involvement as they would like.
